Green Fairy Tales Book, Antique Story Book by Andrew Lang, My Own Fairy Book My Own Fairy Book, including the stories of Prince Prigio, Prince Ricardo, and The Gold of Fairnilee,

"The author of this book is also the Editor of the Blue, Red, Green and Yellow Fairy Books. He has always felt rather an imposter, because so many children seem to think that he made up these books out of his own head...."My own Fairy Book," which you now have in your hands, was made up altogether out of his own head by the Author, of course with the help of the Historical papers in the kingdom of Pantouflia. About that ancient kingdom very little is known." -To Children, page vii

"This Fairy's gift would have pleased the queen, if she had believed in it, more than anything else, because she was so clever herself. But she took no notice at all; and the fairies went each to her own country, and none of them stayed there at the palace, where nobody believed in them, except for the King a little."

259 pages. In GOOD condition considering it is over 100 years aged. Green canvas stamped pictorial boards depicting a picture of two green fairies in embrace upon a green flower. Black lettering and illustrative outlines on front and spine. The cover is all-over soiled. No dust jacket. Canvas covering is torn on the bottom corners as frayed on top and bottom of spine due to shelf wear. Binding in tact. Binding split mid-book on Chapter VI, page 142 as well as ending page. Page one on Chapter I is loose but not missing. Pages are very slighting off color from age but not yellow and as a whole they are very clean -free of stains, odors, creases and markings. The book is undated but these printings in this style of elaborate covering by this publisher are dated through inscriptions left in some copies as early 1900s. This is a solid copy of a timeless fairy tale by a well known story collector.
